A guided walking tour experience from the heart of the Waterford greenway in Kilmacthomas & the harbour town of Dungarvan, full of intriguing local characters, stories of Irish heritage & more…real stories from the heart. Available to book 7 days a week, almost 365 days in the year from this walking storyteller 10am Kilmacthomas Tour - 5K 1. Workhouse: Learn about the Kilmacthomas Workhouse, used to house the destitute of the county during the hard times. 2. Paupers Grave: 3. New Bridge: 4. Railway Station & Signal House: Explore the Kilmacthomas Railway Station and Signal House, which were vital to the local economy during the heyday of the railway. 5. The Village: 6. Flahavan’s Mills: View the site of Flahavan’s Mills, which has been producing high-quality oatmeal products since the 18th century. 7. Curved Viaduct Bridge & Public Park: 8. Woollen Mill: Learn about the history of the Woollen Mill, which was once a major employer to the men & women in the area. 9. River Mahon: 10. Coachhouse: View the Coachhouse, hear about the characters connected to the building, along with coffee & how it all began. 2pm Dungarvan Tour - 2.5K Tour starting outside the doors of the Waterford County Museum (eircode X35 NW63) 1. Town Hall/Augustinian Church: Learn about the Market Town and its origins from ancient Norman settlement times along with the order of the Augustinians to the area. 2. Town Park/Lookout: Here you’ll hear the stories of rebellion and independence 3. Cunnigar Sand Spit: 4. Dungarvan Castle: inside the ancient wall boundaries of the old market town around to the door of the castle, you’ll hear stories of battles and the brave that fought for their ideals through the centuries. 5.
