Tim Crowley traces the origins of guerilla warfare and the fascinating sequence of events which led to the birth of the Irish Free State. On this tour you will see how Cork lived up to it’s name as the Rebel County in 1920 &1921. You will visit all of the West Cork sites associated with Michael Collins outlined as part of the Michael Collins Tour, Clonakilty town, St Mary’s Cemetery (Clonakilty), Collins’ birthplace at Woodfield, Sam’s Cross, Lisavaird village and the Béal na Blá ambush site as well as the War of Independence battle and ambush sites at Rosscarbery, Kilmichael, Crossbarry and Upton.
